Our name:

Marama translates to Moon in te reo Māori. The moon is an important symbol of healing, with maramataka (the Māori lunar calendar) highlighting the connection between the moon and our well-being. Our reliance on the moon extends beyond its influence on tides; it also informs our practices related to floriculture, decision-making, navigation and emotional health. Te Marama's phases, from whiro to rākaunui, can symbolize various aspects of life, including growth, change, and cycles. We view the moon as a reminder of the natural rhythms and cycles of the world. Reiki healing and mindfulness allows us to navigate these changes with ease and gratitude.

Our guiding values:

In alignment with the Hauora model of Te Whare Tapa Whā (Dr Mason Durie), our primary emphasis focuses on the nourishment of Hinengaro (Mind) and Wairua (Soul).

Hinengaro (Mind) - by engaging in mindfulness practices, we cultivate a heightened awareness of our emotions and nurture a deeper connection with our thoughts and feelings.

Wairua (Soul) - our health is related to unseen and unspoken energies, and the spiritual essence of a person is our life force energy (Mauri). During our sessions, we release stagnant or negative energy which may be affecting a person’s life force energy, so they can feel lighter, energised, and more connected to their wairua and tinana.

Wairua also expands on how our mental and physical practices can guide us towards a sense of connection, love and purpose within the world.

Our mantra is "When we fill our own cup, we beam brighter for the people around us."

This is the energy we bring to our women's circles, workshops and community events, as we nourish all four pou, Hinengaro, Tinana, Wairua and Whānau with breathwork (tinana & wairua), social connection (whānau), and meditation (hinengaro & wairua).
